Happy 4 months Bennett!!!!

Our sweet baby boy is 4 months old today! He continues to grow and thrive, and every day is a new adventure. He is the happiest baby, and he continues to sleep well through the night, talks up a storm, loves to play in his exersaucer and rolls around front/back when he's on the floor playing with his toys. He is so close to sitting up by himself and would stand all day if you let him. He has quite the temper, especially when it comes to meal time! He got to try rice cereal last week, and did very well. He kept looking down at the bowl to make sure there was more coming his way. Even though he is only in the 50% for weight, because of his length he is in 6-9mo clothes. Here are some pics from our busy month!
My Georgia boys

We were outside and Ava ran to her play drawer and pulled out two sets of sunglasses...one for her and a stylish red/white & blue pair for B...poor thing, but he didn't mind at all and left them on! Time for cereal...can you tell he is hungry!

He kept trying to shove more in between the spoon.

Once again, we are so thankful for our healthy & happy babies. We look forward to sharing some upcoming fall pics with everyone soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Ava's 1st soccer game
Saturday Ava and her teamates (the orange tigers) faced off with the green lizards. Her league is made up of 3 & 4 year olds and it is precious to watch the little ones either go for it...or cling to their parents. Ava has been practicing all summer, so she was more than ready to go.
She did great and even scored 2 goals (one for us and one for the other team)...in her defense the first goal she kicked went into the goal with her team colors flag hanging on it :) Either way she had fun and did great! We are so proud of her!

Bennett had fun taking pics and cheering on his sister!

4years & 4months!

Last week, we headed to Atlanta for Ava's 4 year appointment and Bennett's 4month check-up. Both kiddos ended up having 4 shots each, which I was a little nervous about. I figured there probably wouldn't be many other times in the future where both of them would have a check-up on the same day, so I loaded up on some fun pics. All the nurses thought that it was pretty cool too!
We'll start with Ava...

She made a 100% on her vision and hearing test. She weighed 36.6lbs (50%) and was 42 1/2" tall (75%). Biggest news is that she didn't shed ONE TEAR during her shots. She only said ouch on one of the shots. The nurses were amazed, and thought she was so brave!

Mr. Bennett went next and was just as good of patient as his sister.
He weighed 14lbs 14oz (50%), and was 25 1/2" tall (75%). Both average weight, above in height. He did great during his shots and only cried on the last one. He also loved the rotovirus oral vaccine (I think he thought it was mylecon and that he was about to eat). He showed off to Dr. Kuo by standing up the whole time, and even laughed when she checked his ears. She said we can start him on cereal then stage 1 foods.

I am so proud of my brave little bugs...they made it easy on their mommy!

St. George 2009

Over Labor Day we headed to one of our favorite spots St. George Island. This is our 5th year, and normally we go over Memorial Day...but since we knew Bennett would arrive at the end of May we set the date for Labor Day instead. We had wonderful weather the whole time, with only one morning of showers.
The boys went fishing and caught lots of fish, we shopped around Apalachicola and Port St. Joe, celebrate Nick's 34th Birthday, played in the sand, chased Ava in the waves, swam in the pool, played cards & cornhole, and just relaxed!
Bennett loved the water and the sand, and I'm afraid to think what a hand full he will be next year when he is mobile! Ava loved the ocean and showed no fear. She had tons of fun swimming in the pool, and even learned to float on her back by herself with no floaties!

Here are just a few of our favorite pictures. I took tons, so I uploaded all of them into a slide show! We already look forward to our next trip back to St. George!

The Family

Nick's idea, clearly he didn't see the story on the Today show about how unsafe it is to bury yourself in the sand!

And now...the rest of my favorites!

Ava's Birthday Party
A few weeks ago, Ava celebrated with her friends and family at Woody's Jump n' Play, with bouncing, pizza & cake! This was Ava's choice, and she couldn't have had more fun. The highlight of the party certainly was Gigi going down the bouncing slide. We are so thankful for our wonderful family & friends who came to celebrate with Ava.

We're not sure who had more fun...Mimi & Papa with Ava, Lilley Kate & Camille
