Happy 3 months Bennett!!!!

Today Bennett is 3 months old! We've had a busy month spent with more firsts and loads of fun! Bennett continues to grow longer and longer. He is still sleeping 8-10 hours at night...which is a huge blessing! He has found his hands, loves to smile and laugh, and is obviously going to be like his sister with lots to say. Overall he is a very happy baby! This month we didn't have to see Dr. Kuo, but will go back in a month for more shots an a weight/height check. Here are some pics from our fun month.

I don't think they look anything alike...do you?

Having fun playing on the floor...mommy almost captured his cute smile.

His first play date with Lilley Kate & Vada.

Sitting in sissy's chair in his "Baby Brother" onezie.

Sporting a new hat.

Almost...another smile!

Just Hanging out
I think this is the only time he has not cried in his car seat

Playing doctor with sissy.

One Sunday we headed to Dawsett Trails an animal park/refuge in Jackson. Both Ava and Bennett had tons of fun watching the animals.

Month 3 is sure to be fun as we head to St. George and Ava starts soccer...stay tuned!

Sweet Ava Girl turns 4!

Wow...4 years old already? As I type this I can hardly believe that our little 6lb baby girl is not a baby any more! She is the first to tell you, "I'm not a baby any more...but I'll always be my Mommy's baby." The time has flown by, and I know I'll blink my eyes again and she'll be 8, then 12...then (I don't want to think what comes after 12).
At 4 years old, Ava loves loves loves school! Her favorite thing to do at school is to "do projects", go to the discovery room, and play in centers (Home Living is her favorite). She adores Bennett and is so proud that she is a big sister. She recognizes and can write all of her letters, spell, recognize and write about 15 words (including Ava Nicole Morrow). She is very artsy and has a huge imagination. Nick and I listen to her play and we stare at each other in disbelief at some of the things that she comes up with. She continues to be a great eater and is of course very tall and slim. She isn't afraid to tell you her opinion or if you are doing something wrong. Like all little girls she is emotional and has a tremendous amount of compassion for other people, animals and even bugs. She has super power hearing, is very observant (nice word for nosy), and is starting to recognize words that we spell out. She is truly one of a kind, a work of art and one of the most precious gifts God could have ever given to us!
She has brought so much joy & humor into our lives and is even teaching us patience. We thank God every minute of every day that he chose us to be her parents. She is a precious glimpse of God's glory to us!
Today she woke up so excited that she was now 4 years old! While I got ready, she snuggled in bed with Bennett and watch Curious George. She then had a few surprises waiting for her and she was very excited that Bennett picked out a new Pet Shop toy for her. She had a great breakfast, got dressed in her special outfit and we headed off to school with her puppy dog cupcakes (her class is the puppy dog class this year).

After school we headed to Atlanta so she could have lunch at her very favorite place Felini's (which was actually one of her first words she ever said). Mimi met us there and we sang Happy Birthday and had cupcakes...again. We had a great day!

The best gift was her daddy suprising her with balloons and flowers!

She's one of a kind!

Not much to say about this picture...other than Ava is surely one of a kind. She went to the bathroom with one outfit on and came out with this ensemble...No those aren't tidy whities...they are just her white panties with her shirt tucked in...doesn't everyone where where them that way?

Ava goes to school
Yesterday, Ava headed back to Pre-school very excited to see her friends and move on up to the 4 year old class. She of course had to have a special outfit...designed by Mommy, sewn by Mimi! Here she is posing before we headed off.
Can't forget a picture with Mommy!
Her new 4yr teacher...ironically enough Miss Jennifer
She had a great day and was worn out after school. After a special lunch, we had to get a few pictures with Bennett and Mimi. We know this will be a very special year!

Ava's swim lessons

For the past two weeks, Ava has been taking swim lessons at the brand new YMCA in Gainesville. With Nick being in Augusta, it worked out well as me and the kiddos stayed at Mimi and Papa's house, coming home on the weekend to see Nick. Ava was very confident going into swim class and did so great on the first day. After her first lesson she asked if she could go in the pool, with the water slide, sprayers etc. and play. We let her and we sat 3 feet from the edge and watched her play. Literally somehow in the blink of an eye I see this head bobbing up and down in the 4 foot section of the pool...it was Ava. Somehow the current from the waterslide pushed her to the deep end. There were 3 lifeguards on duty, but I guess all of them needed a break at the same time, because none of them were at their posts. So, with clothes & shoes on, I jumped in and got her. So scary, and I now understand how kids drown so quickly. She was fine, and didn't even swallow water. She was actually treading water the entire time while holding her breath (just bobing like a fishing bobber). Needless to say she was petrified and for the next two weeks, we had a battle just to get her in the pool. The instructors were great with her and made her do everything they asked. She cooperated, but not without much negotiation (can I wear my googles??? I'm cold!!! If I put my head in the water can I get out and get a drink of water??? Can Claire go first???....on and on).

However, her last two lessons she was back to her old self, chasing her instructor around the pool and dunking her own head under water...What can we say, she's our one of a kind Ava.
Here she is with her certificate and her new Sea World Barbie (her prize for doing great...and eventually not crying and yelling :)
